Willie "Billy" William Smith, Jr.

SMITH-Mr.Willie William "Billy" Smith, Jr., age 83, of Warrenville, S.C., son of the late Willie William Smith, Sr. and the late Hattie Nimmons Smith, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2014. He is survived by daughters; Elaine S. Moody of Williston, S.C. and Laura Swearingen of Warrenville, S.C.; a son, Joey DeWayne Smith, Sr. of Bath, S.C.; a brother, Wade Hampton Smith of Edgefield, S.C.; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dollie Maxine Brock Smith; his 2nd wife, Susan Harrelson Smith; two sons, William Corbett Smith and Kenneth David Smith. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Augusta, Ga. He was a retired Head Loomer Fixer with the Vaucluse Division of Graniteville Company. He was a US Army Veteran having received a Purple Heart while bravely serving his Country during the Korean Conflict. The family stated that he enjoyed eating cheeseballs and peppermint balls. He also loved camping at the Beach. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 83 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in everyone’s hearts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, June 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A service celebrating his life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Roland Smith Officiciating. The interment will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Bath, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Herbert Moody, Cameron Bartlett, David Leopard, Gary Boatwright, Jr. and Gregory Boatwright.
