William Tony Tanton

TANTON-William “Tony” Tanton, age 75, of Warrenville, S.C., loving husband for 55 years to Lynette Murphy Tanton, and son of the late Garnett N. Tanton and the late Alyne Freeman Tanton, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 23, 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Theresa Tanton (Dennis) Carroll of Warenville, S.C.; a son, Todd (Celeste) Tanton of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Margie May and Pam Tanton both of Gibson, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren Carroll and Dalton & Nicole Tanton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Walker and a brother, Sandy Tanton. He was born in Langley, S.C. and has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a retired supervisor with Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Aiken, S.C. He was a member of Vaucluse United Methodist Church in Vaucluse, S.C. He was a Mason with Horse Creek Lodge No. 174 A.F.M. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 75 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. He has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with his Maker in a land of endless tomorrows, where the soul never dies, and we never have to say goodbye. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, August 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bob Still officiating.
