SCOTT-William Richard “Bill†Scott, age 73, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for 54 years to Helen Salley Scott and son of the late George H. Scott, Sr. and the late Eunice “Mae†Whisenant Scott, entered into rest on Thursday, February 26, 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Richard Todd (Carolyn) Scott of Aiken, S.C., Barry Dean Scott of Gaston, S.C. and William Christopher (Shannon) Scott of North Augusta, S.C.; granddaughters, McKenna and Codi; step-granddaughters, Selena and Elena. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Belinda Scott and a brother, George “Buddy†Scott. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. He retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas with over 37 years of dedicated service. He also worked for Sizemore Security Company as a proud Security Guard at the Edgefield County Courthouse. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening (especially flowers) and spending time with his granddaughters. He was an avid fan of the Gamecocks, Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his lifetime here on earth; however, death is not the end for Bill, as he has just made that great transition to his Heavenly home, where all is peace and joy in that land and no sad goodbyes are ever spoken. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, March 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Charles F. Jenkins officiating.
