William Billy Dunn

DUNN-Mr. William “Billy” Dunn, Jr., age 58, of Graniteville, S.C., beloved husband of Virginia “Jenny” Dunn, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He was the son of the late William “Bill” Dunn, Sr. and the late Myrtle Booth Dunn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Christina Maria Dunn of Graniteville and Andrea Dunn Moore of North Augusta; sisters, Ann (Dwain) Mayer of Graniteville and Julie (Russ) Ferrara of Aiken; a brother, Johnny (Beverly) Hodson of Graniteville and a granddaughter, Brooke Moore. He was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was employed as a computer console operator with Graniteville Company until their closing. He was currently employed with Aiken County building and grounds maintenance. He was of the Baptist faith. He really loved animals and would rescue any and all stray ones that he came in contact with. He was a fantastic cook, and his wife stated that he enjoyed cooking so much that he prepared all of their meals. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and granddaddy; so fondly referred to as “PaPa Billy.” Yes, he shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 58 years that God granted him on this earth; however, life does not end with death as the gift of God is eternal life. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Randall and Mr. Larry Whittle officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Kip Gunter, Ken Turnbull, John Hodson, Jr., Billy Cliett, Greg Hiers, Daren Tanton. Cleveland T. Rains, Jr. will serve as an Honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, the day of the service, from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that, in honor of his only grandchild, Brooke Moore, memorials be made to Howlandville Baptist Church, 36 Howlandville Rd., Warrenville, S.C. 29851.
