CATO-Entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 31, 2011, Ms. Vivian Ford Rhodes Cato, age 91 of Graniteville, S. C., daughter of the late Edward Ford and the late Minnie McManus Ford. She is survived by a daughter, Sondra Clark of Windsor, S. C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Howard and Linda Rhodes of Nicholson, Ga.; Rev. Tony and Debbie Rhodes of Graniteville, S.C.; a brother, Grady Ford of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was born in Augusta, Georgia but has been a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville, S.C. She was a Godly and honorable mother and grandmother who loved her family supremely. Up to her failing health, she really enjoyed cooking and gardening. She will truly be missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 91 years that God granted her on this earth; but even now, life for her has not ended; she has just made a transition to her Heavenly home. To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord, and she is now shouting on the hills of glory. A celebration of her life service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Christian Heritage Church at 4:00 PM with Rev. Howard Rhodes, Rev. Tony Rhodes and Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends tonight, Tuesday, February 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the church on Ascauga Lake Rd., in Graniteville, S.C. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses.
