RODGERS-Virginia Maye “Jenny” Rodgers of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late Farrell E. Rodgers, Sr. and daughter of the late Estile and Ethel Maye answered God’s call and went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She is survived by a son Farrell “Eddie” Rodgers of Aiken, S.C.; a grandson, Jonathan Rodgers and a number of special nieces and nephews. She was born in West Jefferson, N.C. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her delicious apple cakes. She was also a wonderful story teller and could really capture your attention when she shared one of her stories with you. Yes, “Jenny”, as she was so fondly known by her family and friends, was a wonderful person with a fantastic personality. She shall be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Death is not the end for “Jenny” as she as just made that great transition to her new Heavenly Home where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. Earth’s loss, is truly Heaven’s gain. A graveside service will be held at Aiken Memorial Park on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Chris Masters officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of her sister-in-law, Sarah Medlock, in Graniteville following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to a place dear to Jenny’s heart; The Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, S.C. 29605.
