Virginia Taylor Raborn

Virginia Taylor Raborn, age 82, loving wife for 67 years to George L. Raborn, Sr. and daughter of the late Manley “Son” Taylor and the late Rowena Seigler Taylor, entered into rest at her residence, with her family by her side on Saturday, January 14, 2017. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, George L. (Mary Lynn) Raborn, Jr.; a daughter, Janice R. (Buddy) Fincher; a brother, Tommy Taylor; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Frances Taylor and a brother, Oscar Taylor. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She worked many years as a clerk with K-Mart. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ridge Spring, S.C. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family stated that she loved to cook and was quite good at it. She also loved her Lord and her family with all her heart, and they loved her in turn. Death is not the end for Virginia Raborn, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly Home in a land of endless tomorrows, where the soul shall never die, and we’ll never have to say goodbye. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, January 17th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev.Vollie Gibbs officiating. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Travis Fincher, Byron Cook, Tony Roberts, Bert Richardson, Donny Raborn and Whitt Taylor. Her great grandsons, Brody Cook, Colby Roberts and Chris Fincher will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 164 Mt.
