Violet Hutto, DeRamus Pike

PIKE- Ms.Violet Hutto DeRamus Pike, age 73 of Flowery Branch, Georgia, daughter of the late Lever Hutto and the late Sarah Hutto Hutto entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 4, 2011. She is survived by daughters, Cindy Newman of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Teresa Pike of Albany, Ga.; a son, Robert Pike of Flowery Branch, Ga.; a sister, Norma Moxley of Gloverville, S. C.; a brother, David Hutto of Atlanta, Ga. and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Pike and a grandson, Robert Pike, Jr. She was born in Aiken, S.C. but has made her home in Georgia for the past twenty-seven years. She was a lifelong member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. She worked as a waitress for the Waffle House in North Augusta for over ten years, and she was well known for her warm friendly smile by all the many people who she served and came in contact with while there. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother; and next to God, she always put her family first. She was a dedicated hardworking mother, whom you might say had a degree in homemaking, as she successfully raised her family by working two jobs. She never met a stranger, which yielded her many friends. Yes, she was always loving and always loved by everyone, and she shall be greatly missed by her family, many friends and all whose lives she touched during the 73 years that God granted her on this earth. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A celebration of her life service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Good Hope Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. with Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
