VERNON A. CARTER

December 31, 1969 — July 4, 2010

CARTER-Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 4, 2010, Mr. Vernon A. Carter, age 72 of Aiken, S. C., beloved husband of Ann Williamson Carter, and son of the late Albert Carter and the late Jessie Mae Sanders Carter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tim Paymaster of Aiken and Sharon King of Clearwater; sons, Bradley Carter of Graniteville and Marty Carter of Clearwater; sisters and brothers-in-law; Shelvadene Gayle of Clearwater, Frances and Charles Jones, Claudia and Ronnie Moore both of Aiken; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Jan Carter of Lake Murray; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a retired supervisor with Owens-Corning Fiberglas. He was a member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church in Graniteville. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, who loved his family very much. Next to his family, he loved the Atlanta Braves. Vernon was a very patriotic man, who really loved his country, and he always kept abreast of what was going on. How fitting, he was patriotic; and the good Lord saw fit to let him make his exit here and join Him on the 4th of July!!! He also, enjoyed fishing, and he had a green thumb, as he enjoyed working outdoors and gardening. He always kept a well groomed yard. Needless to say, he shall be greatly missed by his family and many friends, but life for him has not ended, just only begun in a better land. He has just made that transition to his Heavenly home. A celebration of his life service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Breezy Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Riley officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Charles Jones, Kevin Jones, Ronnie Moore, Johnny Johnson, Jimmie Powell, Gary Hitt and Leonard Williamson. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home tonight, Tuesday, July 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The family would also like to take this time to say a heartfelt “thank you” to Regency Hospice in the wonderful care they extended to their loved one during his illness. Memorials, in Mr. Carters’s honor, may be made to Regency Hospice, 105 Summerwood Way, Suite D., Aiken, S. C. 29803. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.
