Tyler S. Gardner

December 31, 1969 — January 9, 2014

GARDNER-Mr. Tyler S. Gardner, age 20, of Greensboro, N. C., loving son of Jill Wood Gardner of Greensboro, N.C. and Marcus Shane Gardner of Australia, entered into rest from injuries sustained in an auto accident, in Graniteville, S.C. on Thursday, January 9, 2014. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Jack Wood of Greensboro, N.C. and Millina Wood of North Augusta, S.C.; paternal grandparents, Douglas Gardner and Alice Blackwell both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother, Landen Baldwin of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Shania Rose Gardner of Australia; Jason and Cheryl Knight of Graniteville, S.C., who he spent much of his childhood days with and who were like parents to him during that time and Jason and Katherine Knight who were like a brother and sister to him. He was preceded in death by a brother, Drew Gardner. He was born in Lancaster, S.C. He was employed with Proctor and Gamble in the Quality Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville, S.C. He was a great lover of music, art and his friends. He shall be greatly missed by his family and many friends, as was evidenced by the crowd that gathered at the hospital during his last days. It was spectacular and spoke very highly of the love his friends had for him. Death is not the end for Tyler as he was an organ donor and because of this, he has help several other persons to survive. A service celebrating his life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 4:00 PM with Rev. James Young officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. His ROTC friends will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The interment will be private. Memorials, in Tyler’s honor, may be made to the Midland Valley NJROTC Program. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
