RUTLAND–Mr. Thomas H. Rutland, age 70, of Langley, S.C., loving husband of Loree Kirkland Rutland and son of the late Harold Rutland and the late Maddie Yaun Rutland, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, October 29, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Dean (Lori) Rutland of Sweetwater, S.C. Andy (Paula) Rutland of Augusta, Ga. and Jeff Sharpton of Langley, S.C.; a special granddaughter, Danielle; a sister, Bonnie Day; a special friend, who was like a son to him, Henry (Tonya) Carlin; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Dixon. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all; and he shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his precious lifetime; however, he shall live on forever in everyone’s hearts. The family will receive friends one hour (3:00 PM) prior to the celebration of life service, which will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Todd Blackwell officiating, assisted by Mr. Henry Carlin. The interment will follow the service at the Langley Cemetery in Langley, S.C. The pallbearers will be Tyler Hancock, David Carlin, Kenneth Hancock, Billy Dixon, Deith Dixon and Todd King. If so desired, memorials, in Mr. Rutland’s memory, may be made to the American Lung Association, 44A Markfield Dr., Charleston, S.C. 29407 or to a charity one’s choice.
