Mr. Thomas Eddie Carpenter, 74, returned to his Lord and Savior Sunday May 22, 2022.
Born in Aiken, S.C. to the late Thomas Edward and Jeanette Bishop Carpenter, Eddie has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He retired from Centerra - Wackenhut as a Security Professional after 28 years and also started his own business Skyline Billboard Advertising, serving as its president for 27 years from 1995 to 2022. Eddie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was madly in love with his wife, Phyllis, for every bit of the 53 wonderful years of marriage. He delighted in taking care of his family, they were his first priority and his world. He enjoyed working outside in his yard gardening, and also worked with Aiken County Parks and Recreation Department for 24 years from 1994 to 2018. Eddie also enjoyed building and flying RC planes, and scuba diving. He’s been a member of Christian Heritage Church for 53 years in many capacities, from security to sound engineer, and as Deacon for a time. Eddie will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Terry Sebenoler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis Carpenter; son, Stuart (Patricia) Carpenter; daughter, Kimberly (Joey) Huckabee; brother, Tommy (Charmaigne) Carpenter, sister Frances (Carl) Lockhart; brother-in-law, Patrick Sebenoler; granddaughters, Shelby (Eric) Wise, Haley (Josh) Swearingen, Allie Beard, and Mallory (Jordan) Lambert; and one great grandson on the way, Riggs Swearingen.
A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be held at Christian Heritage Church Friday May 27, 2022 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Stephen Phillips and Pastor Jonathan Randall to officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stuart Carpenter, Joey Huckabee, Joel Randall, Josh Swearingen, Mike Bailey, and Jordan Lambert.
