Shirley Mathis Floyd

December 28, 1938 — July 25, 2020

Mrs. Shirley Mathis Floyd, age 81, of Trenton, S. C., widow of the late Billy J. Floyd and daughter of the late Monroe Mathis and the late Lillian Nichols Mathis, departed this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, July 25, 2020. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Billy) Patterson and Shirlene Frick; a son, Darrell Floyd; sisters, Betty Plunkett and Janice Barton; brothers, Thomas Mathis and Larry Mathis; nine grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was born in Spartanburg County, S.C. but had spent most of her life in Edgefield County and Aiken County.  She was a chartered member of Harvest Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved her family and grandchildren with all her heart and was a friend to many.  She was a precious Godly lady who would do anything for anybody; always putting others needs above herself.  A lady of her caliber shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 81 years that God granted her on this earth. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A graveside service, celebrating her life and homegoing will be held at the Graniteville Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. The family will greet friends at the graveside following the service. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor, may be made to the American Transplant Foundation, org.  Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of all of the arrangements, and you may sign the guest registry by logging on to  www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
