December 31, 1969 — July 9, 2012

SHARPE-Mrs. Cheryl D. Chambers Sharpe, age 63 of Aiken, S.C., beloved wife of Jack J. Sharpe and daughter of the late T. R. Chambers, Sr. and Wanda E. Hobbs Chambers, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, July 9, 2012. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Hope (Heath) Mullins of Aiken; sons, Ray (Regina) Brock of Aiken, Jerry (Merriah) Brock, US Navy, Norfork, Va.; Stepdaughters, Diane (Brian) Weber, Gayle (Chad) Tessman; brothers, Chucky (Mary) Chambers, Donnie Chambers, Ronnie (Sheila) Chambers all of New Ellenton, S.C. and Richard (Lisa) Chambers of Aiken; seven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and one step great grandson. She was born in Chattanooga , Tennessee but has been a resident of Aiken County since 1951. She was a dedicated member of Corinth Baptist Church in New Ellenton having worked in the nursery for over 40 years, was the Coordinator of Children Church, a member of the Baptist Committee, sang in the Senior Sanctuary Choir and worked with the GA’s. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother; and yes, she shall definitely be missed by her family, her church family and all whose lives she touched during her precious lifetime. There is a consolation in knowing that life for Cheryl has not ended, as she has just made a transition to her new Heavenly home, where there will be no more pain nor sorrow for all is joy in that great land. The family will receive friends at Corinth Baptist Church at 819 S. Main St. in New Ellenton, S.C. , Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM; at which time, the service celebrating her life and home going will be held with Rev. Mike Bell, Rev. Kirby Bunton and Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Mel Youngblood, Tim Thomas, Scott Bryant, Kevin Browder, Harold Key and Mike Mills. The Honorary pallbearers will be Lenny Atkinson, Adult Three Class, Senior Ladies and the Men Classes. Memorials, in Cheryl’s honor, may be made to Corinth Baptist Church Building Fund.
