Obituary
Mrs. Sherrie Alkire Kirkland, age 76, of Graniteville, S.C., loving wife for 57 years to Clifford W. Kirkland and daughter of the late Edward Alkire and the late Virginia Rogers Alkire, entered into eternal rest at the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, S. C. on Friday, February 19, 2021. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Clifford (Alicia) Kirkland, Jr. and a daughter, Vikki (Robert) Morris; five grandchildren, Alyson Edwards, Robert Morris, III, Amelia Kirkland, Luke Kirkland and Anna Kirkland and two great grandchildren, Walker Edwards and Chase Edwards. She was born in Missoula, Montana. She and her husband were both Mail persons in the Air Force, which is where they met. She also had worked as a secretary for W. R. Grace Clay Company. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family dearly and always placed them first in her life. They in turn loved her just as much. The family stated that she always put everyone’s needs above her own, and would do just anything to help anybody. What a wonderful world it would be if more people were like her. A lady of her caliber shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A private memorial service, celebrating her life, will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the arrangements.
