Sandra Leroy Hand

HAND-Mrs. Sandra LeRoy Hand, age 72, of Graniteville, S.C., loving wife for 54 years to Lucius “Luke” D. Hand, Sr. and daughter of the late John Thaddeus LeRoy, Sr. and the late Ida Sluder LeRoy, answered God’s call and went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 29, 2014. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Michelle D. (Larson, Jr.) Boatwright; sons, Rev. L. Delton (Melody M.) Hand, Jr. and Electrician’s Mate First Class (Submarines) Christopher D. Hand; sisters, Velta Toole and Linda Gale (Carldean) Ashley; brothers, Rev. Julian (Barbara) LeRoy, Gene (Glenda) LeRoy, J. T. (Kathy) LeRoy, Jr. and Rev. Douglas (Wanda) LeRoy; grandchildren, Rev. Kevin G. Hand, Whitney F. Johnson, Victoria H. Walls, Lauren V. Hand, Madison G. Hand, Trey Boatwright and Justin A. Hand; great grandchildren, Karson L. Hand and Luke A. Johnson. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin LeRoy Hand. She was born in Pickens County, S.C. but has been a resident of Aiken County most of her life. She was a retired Bus Driver and Kindergarten Aide with the Aiken County School District. She was a member of Langley Church of God. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister not only to her family but to many in the community through her acts of kindness as a seamstress, school teacher, bus driver, Sunday school teacher, choir member and faithful friend. She will surely be missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 72 precious years that God granted on this earth; however death is not the end as God has promised eternal life for all who believe in Him. She has just finished life’s journey and is now at peace with her Maker. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Langley Church of God with Rev. Bennie E. Burton, Rev. Douglas LeRoy, Rev. Marcus Hand and Rev. Delton Hand officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM.
