Sam Duffie

December 31, 1969 — October 23, 2012

DUFFIE –Mr. Sam Duffie, age 81, of Vaucluse, S.C., husband of the late Ann West Duffie and son of the late William A. Duffie and the late Sonoma Franklin Duffie, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. He is survived by daughters; Linda D. Wideman of Vaucluse, S.C. and Susan D. Rosier of Graniteville, S.C.; a sister, Lillian Baughman; grandchildren, Shawn Duffie, Tia (Gabriel) Kitchings, Shannon ( Jonathan) Randall, Brandon (Molly) Rosier; great grandchildren, Mathew Duffie, Michael Duffie, Jacob Randall, Joshua Randall, Seth Randall, Kinsley Kitchings, Emmy Rosier and Rex Rosier; gaggy’s grandchildren, Morgan Tesenier, Julian Gozales and Mario Gozales, Jr. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mike Duffie. He was born in Vaucluse, S.C. and has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of the Vaucluse Methodist Church. He was retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant and was a US Navy Veteran. His hobbies included fishing; and next to his family and grandchildren, came his great love for baseball and the Atlanta Braves. He was a well-rounded father, grandfather and friend who shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 81 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, life for Sam has not ended; just only begun in a better land with no more pain or sorrow. He has just made that great transition to his Heavenly home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, October 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home Thursday, October 25th at 2:00 PM with Rev. W. H. Bryant officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. Since Sam always wanted every child to have a good Christmas, in lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials, in his honor, be made to the Valley Empty Stocking Fund. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S. C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You can visit the online guest register at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
