Ruth Jones Dopson

DOPSON-Ms. Ruth Jones Dopson, age 94, of Warrenville, S. C. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 10, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Edward Abraham Jones and the late Lillian Elizabeth Hartsfield Jones. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Minter “Chip” H. and Michelle Dopson of Warrenville, S.C. and four grandchildren, Kristin, Doug, Lindsey and Cate Dopson. She was born in Akron, Alabama but was a resident of Charleston County, S. C. prior to relocating to Aiken County, S.C. nine years ago. She was a retired nurse, who prior to retirement, really enjoyed her profession, because she really loved helping others. You could truly say that she believed in the motto “Others’ as she always, next to God, put her family and others first in her life. She was a member of Augusta Old Line Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, whose life made a huge impact on her family. Needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the fruitful 94 years that God granted her on this earth; yes, earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Augusta Old Line Primitive Baptist Church, 3646 Old Petersburg Road, Augusta, Ga. 30907 with Pastor Dwayne Hooven officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials, in Ms. Dopson’s honor, be made to her church at the above address.
