COOPER-Mrs. Ruth Rollins Cooper, age 86 of Aiken, S.C., loving wife of Alfred G. “Al” Cooper and daughter of the late Arthur Rollins and the late Lillian Johnson Rollins, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by a son, Alfred G. “Sandy” (Lisa) Cooper, Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; daughters, Pamela Lynn (William) Powell of Evans, Ga. and

Sharon Leigh Cooper of Augusta, Ga.; sisters, Marie L. (Charles) Heath and Betty R. Busch both of Couchton, S.C.; a brother, Alvin (Ida Lee) Rollins of Graniteville, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Pia Cooper of Greenwood, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Ralph T. Moore; grandchildren, Paul Cooper, Peter Cooper, Kia Henderson, Clay Kimbrell and Josh Kimbrell; great grandchildren, Blaine Henderson, Bradley Meyer and Linley Meyer and a number of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Cooper; sisters, Corinna Ada “Snookie” Golding, Celia Ann Moore, a brother, Calvin Rollins and brothers-in-law, Richard Busch and William J. Golding. Ruth was a former legal secretary, having worked in the office of The Honorable L. Glenn Holley Magistrate and The Honorable Jimmie L. Gregory, Coroner, having left her career to become a fulltime homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated The Rapid Shop Grocery Store for several years. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Aiken, S.C. Until she became ill, she was actively involved in many areas of church work, especially on behalf of the Women of the Church. A service, celebrating her life, will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Greg Bowen officiating. The interment will follow the service at Aiken Memorial Park. The Pallbearers will be Alfred G. Cooper, Jr., William Powell, Paul Cooper, Peter Cooper, Scott Heath and Craig Heath. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church, 47 Varden Dr., Aiken, S.C. 29803.
