Ronald Sigmon Walter Hass

Mr. Ronald Sigmond Walter Hass “Papa Ron”, after a long and wonderful life, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Ron was born on August 24, 1935, to the late Emil and Erna (Sell) Hass in Merrill, Wisconsin. He retired from the United States Army after 20 years, as a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the 101^st Airborne Division. He was an avid member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aiken, S.C. and loved all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to play his harmonica for them. He was a devoted fan of his beloved Greenbay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Atlanta Braves.

Ron is survived by his daughter Dorothy Hutto; grandson, Larry (Patty) Hutto, Cindy (Steve) Cain, Charles (Shannon) Taylor, Mike (Gina) Hutto, Nick (Krystal) Hutto, Theresa Blaylock and Tammy Pahuamba; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Ira; daughters, Barbara Walker and Faye Pou; brothers, Clifford, Carlos and Roger Hass; son-in-law, Jack Hutto; and great grand-daughter Kaley Hutto.

A Funeral Service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Aiken, S.C., on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at 2 P.M. with Rev. John B. Engwall to officiate. The burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, Colby Taylor, Nicholas Hutto, Mike Hutto, Larry Hutto, and Noah Bentley.
