RIGGS-Roger D. Riggs, age 73, of Trenton, S.C., loving husband for 57 years to Jeanette Medlock Riggs and son of the late Alvin Riggs and the late Dovie Ree Yaun Riggs, entered into rest at the University Hospital on Friday, June 30, 2017. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters; Cheryl (Steven) Fox of Aiken, S.C., Donna (Wes) Osmeyer of Trenton, S.C. and Tammy (David) Thompson of Graniteville, S.C.; a sister, Anna (Leroy) Bruce of Aiken, S.C.; brothers, Edgar (Mary) Riggs of Evans, Ga. and Chester Riggs of Trenton, S.C.; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Riggs and a daughter, Eva Riggs. He was born in Vaucluse, S.C. and has been a resident of Edgefield County for a number of years. He retired from Graniteville Co. as a Maintenance Technician. His hobbies included fishing, riding his golf cart, enjoying his grandchildren and of course, his little dog, “Scoot”. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 73 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end, as he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Renew officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
