JACKSON-Entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 8, 2010, Mr. Robert Carson Jackson of Trenton, S. C., beloved husband of Betty Williams Jackson and son of the late Woodrow Wilson Jackson and the late Mildred Elise Hite Jackson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter; Robin Jackson Blackmon and her husband, Gordon of Aiken, S.C., a stepson, Luke Williams and his wife Erica of Graniteville, S.C., a brother, James Wilson Jackson of Trenton, S.C.; step-grandchildren, Lexa Williams, Austin Reeves, Joseph Blackmon and Gordon Blackmon, IV. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Quarles Jackson. He was born in and has been a lifelong resident of Edgefield County. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Saluda, S.C. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #181 in Johnston, S.C. and was a Shriner with the Hejaz Temple of Greenville, S. C. He was also a member of the S. C. National Guard. Until his failing health, he was very actively self-employed in the logging business. He was a real quite person, but when he did say something, it was worth hearing and to your best interest to listen. He was a good husband, father and grandfather. He was kind and generous and would do anything he could to help anyone. His hobbies included listening to music and playing the bass guitar. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting; yes, you could say that he was a real outdoorsman. He shall be greatly missed by his family and many friends; but life for Carson has not ended, just only begun at that great hunting ground in the sky with no more pain or sorrow. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. A celebration of his life service will be conducted Monday, October 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Chaplain Robert Huffman officiating. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Jerry W. Jackson, Michael Goodwin, Tony Willing, Terry Willing, Keith Herrin and Ronnie New. The Masonic Lodge #181 and the Saluda Shrine Club of Saluda, S. C. will serve as Honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior(1:00 to 2:00 PM) to the service on Monday. Memorials, in Carson’s honor, may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W.
