EFIRD-Mr. Robert Lever “Bobby†Efird, age 79, of Graniteville, S.C., loving husband for 59 years to Sara Hammett Efird and son of the late John Alfred Efird and the late Ethel Randall Efird, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2013. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Kay Gordon of Greenwood, S.C. and Teresa Efird McNair of Eatonton, Ga.; a sister, Alice Gwen Whitt of Graniteville, S.C.; a granddaughter, Susan Johnson of Eatonton, Ga.; grandsons, Thomas Franklin of Greenwood, S.C., Jason Franklin of Ashville, N. He was a US Navy Veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed salesman. He was always there serving the local and surrounding community families to make sure their purchases for their loved ones graves were just what they wanted. On the day before he was going to the hospital for his knee surgery, he went by the funeral home to see Sammie and Glenda to let them know that they could call his wife, Sara to give her information to assist families with their requests while he was out. He was a special person and friend who would go the extra mile to help anyone who needed him. He was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 79 years that God granted him on this earth; however death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his many friends and loved ones. There is a special place in Heaven for Bobby, and he has just gone to receive his much deserved reward.
