Robert Hewitt Boyd

BOYD- Mr. Robert Hewitt Boyd, age 62, of Warrenville, S.C., loving husband for 27 years to Patricia “Pattty” Young Boyd and son of the late Robert Herbert Boyd and the late Jean Henderson Boyd, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters, Angie Boyd Boatwright of North Augusta, S.C., Dale Boyd Stephens of Jackson, S.C., Kimberly Purks of Augusta, Ga. and Deborah Dixon of Warrenville, S.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Susan Young, Terry and Mary Young; nephews, Michael Brandon Huls and Joshua Stephens; a niece, Cindy Key; a great niece, Brittany Wallace; a great nephew, Timothy Key; an aunt and uncle, Pat and Ed Summerall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Cody Stephens. He was born in Augusta, Ga. but has spent most of his life in Aiken County, S.C. As a young boy, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Clearwater, S.C. He worked for Avondale Mills for over 18 years as a forklift operator. His favorite hobby was working with and creating woodcrafts. He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 62 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, life does not end with death, as God has promised eternal life for all who trust and believe in Him. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his family and loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening, May 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Phillip Napier officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Jamie Davis, Glen Thurmond, Jim Boatwright, David Dixon, Brandon Huls, Denny Mullins and Mark Newman.
