BARRETT- Mr. Robert O. Barrett, age 64 of Warrenville, S.C., loving husband for 41 years to Rhonda Davis Barrett, and son of Elizabeth Clark Barrett and the late Percy Odell Barrett, entered into eternal rest at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. on Friday, May 3, 2013. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his father-in-law, Norman Davis of Warrenville, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Teri Barrett of Aiken, S.C., Eric and Christie Barrett of Trenton, S.C.; a granddaughter, Jordan Barrett; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Wanda Barrett of Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law, Rita and Randy Livingston of Hephzibah, Ga. and Rechelle Sexton of North Augusta, S.C. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Reba Davis and a great nephew, Easton Hodson. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a dedicated member of Warrenville First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Discipleship Sunday School Class. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 153 in Langley, S.C. He was a loving husband, a special dad, brother, grandfather and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all who lives he touched during the 64 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, he fought a good fight, he run the race, he kept the faith, and now, he has gone to receive his much deserved “Crown of Life” in a place where there is no more pain or sorrow for all is joy and peace in that land. Death cannot destroy memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Arthur Zawislak officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The pallbearers will be Eddie Norris, John Seigler, Harry Barton, Lamar Heath, Milton Sexton and Rudy Cook. Members of the American Legion Post 153 will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family would like to extend a “Special Thanks” to the Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN. CCIU doctors and nurses for the great love and care that they gave to their loved one during his stay there. Memorials, in Robert’s honor, may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 190 Knox Abbott Dr., Cayce, S.C. 29033.
