Robert P. Arender

ARENDER- Entered into rest on Monday, June 28, 2010, Mr. Robert P. Arender age 85, of Graniteville, S. C., husband of the late Mary Frances Cranford Arender and son of the late Robert J. Arender and the late Mattie Wise Arender. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Virginia and Jack Faulkner of Jacksonville, Florida and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Matthews, Adelaide Howard and Dorothy Moden. He was born in Graniteville, S. C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired Superintendent with Graniteville Company with 40 years of dedicated service. He was a US Navy Veteran having served his country during World War II. He was a Mason with Star Lodge #99. He was an avid Gamecock fan and booster club member. Robert was a friendly, fun loving guy with many friends; yes, truly a “Southern Gentleman”, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens in Graniteville with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The pallbearers will be Bill McCord, Tippy Kirkland, Bobby Hayes, Al McKay, Wayne Martin and C. B. Hatcher. The family will be greeting friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Friends may view Robert and sign the register at Napier Funeral Home, tonight, Wednesday, June 30th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, the day of the service, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
