Richard Tyrone New

Mr. Richard Tyrone New, age 82, entered into eternal rest on Sunday August 21, 2022 at his home in Graniteville.

He is survived by his sister, Janice New Abney; nephew, Jody (Suzanne) Abney; great nieces and nephews, Katie (Paul) Whitley, Hannah (Zach) Martin, David Abney, Daniel Abney; great-great nieces and nephews, Isabelle Whitley, James Whitley, Henry Martin; and one great-great nephew “on the way”, Shepherd Martin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Preston and Lila Mae Renew New; and brother, Henry “Sonny” New.

Mr. New was employed by the Graniteville Company and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville. He will be deeply missed by his family and those whose lives he touched.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2022 in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 11AM with Rev. Doug Puckett officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: David Abney, Daniel Abney, Paul Whitley, Zach Martin, and Delain Woodward.
