Richard "Ricky" Dwyer Franklin

Mr. Richard “Ricky” Dwyer Franklin, age 67, beloved husband of Mrs. Marsha Franklin, entered into rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Mr. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Olin David Franklin and Gladys Jean Woodward Franklin; three siblings, Rusty Franklin, Pam McKee, and Rob Franklin. 

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marsha Franklin; two children, Melissa Franklin Cone (Andy) and Richie Franklin; three grandchildren, Justin Joiner, Brayden Joiner, and Anslee Franklin; one sister, Dee Franklin Metzger (Ed); nieces and nephews, Brittney Kenney (Justin), David Cofer, Myke Metzger and Matt Metzger, and several great-nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Graniteville, SC, and retired from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. Mr. Franklin’s greatest joys in life were spending time with his family and serving in his church. He was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church where he was an usher and served as president of the Fellowship Ministry. He was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree member of Assembly #1074. Mr. Franklin was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed spending time outdoors and camping.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Franklin will be conducted Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church to be officiated by Father Kentigern Aririguzo . The interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Audie Brantley, Clem Campbell, Clifton Chapman, Larry Chapman, John Clark, Steve Garner, Greg Hughes, Auren Mitchell, and Mike Richards.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, P.O. Box 358, Gloverville, SC 29829.
