Rev. Leroy M. Beard entered into rest on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
Born in Aiken, S.C. to the late Oscar and Mamie Beard and the youngest of 9 children. Leroy devoted his life to God and his Ministry for 33 years starting as a Sunday School Superintendent and working his way up to Lead Pastor. He loved people and helping them in any way that he could. He enjoyed playing baseball and golf, gardening, and traveling to the mountains and the coast, especially Hilton Head Island. He will be remembered for being a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, son, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lenwood (Blossom) Beard, John D. Beard, Geddings (Mildred) Beard; and sisters, Catherine “Kitty” (Webster) Hall, Betty (H.D.) Lewis, Eloise (Vernon) Fulmer, Carolyn (Shirley) Pittman, Ruby (Arthur) Tinsley, and Catherine “Bean” (T.C.) Callas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra Beard; son, Steven (Debra) Beard; grandchildren, Brooke (Nathan) Storey, and Trevor (Kayla) Beard; great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Elliotte, and Winnie Storey; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be held at Warrenville Revival Center on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 2 P.M.with Rev. Paul Widener and Rev. Nathan Storey to officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow immediately at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Conaway, Jody Maddox, Mack Rutland, Cody Kelley, Ed Kucela, Devin Varnador, Randy Widener, and Boyd Kneece.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Rev. Charlie Kelley, Purvis Parrish, James Huff, Wade Baggott, Rafael Garcia, and Michael Fulmer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Warrenville Revival Center Building Fund, P.O. Box 452 Warrenville, S.C. 29851.
