Rev. Aubrey Adams

ADAMS- Rev. Aubrey Windol Adams (73) of Vaucluse, SC went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 02, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. A man known for his faith and love of family, Aubrey left behind a legacy of laughter and joy. A devoted husband of 53 years, he is survived by the love of his life, Delores H. Adams. Born in Baxley, GA on June 12, 1940, Aubrey attended Southeastern Seminary and served as a Baptist minister, traveled as a guest speaker and worked with the community through local non-profit ministries. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. A sure way to see Aubrey’s face light up, was to ask him about his two children and five grandchildren who he regularly laughed with and loved on. He is survived by his daughters, Michele A. Herron (Keith) and Yvonne A. Hudson (Robbie), and five grandchildren; Chesley Tench (Barron) of Anderson, Derek Herron (Jennifer) of Atlanta, Kellie Herron, Devon Hudson and Chase Hudson. Aubrey is also survived by his brother, Jerry Elmer Adams, and sister, Linda Lybrand (Carl). He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Madie Adams, and brothers, Jimmy Adams and Dwayne Adams. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4th at Napier Funeral Home from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and honoring his memory, will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 5th at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken, SC with pastors Eric Kincaid and Marion Britton officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetary. Pallbearers include Charles Harris, Larry Harris, Chris Harris, Michael Harris, Jason Lybrand, and Keith Polk. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2094 Columbia Highway North, Aiken, S. C. 29805. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
