Reuben Benjamin "Ben" Smith, Jr.

Mr. Reuben Benjamin “Ben” Smith, Jr., age 79, beloved husband to Mrs. Mary Nell Smith, entered into rest on Thursday January 13, 2022.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Miriam B. Sandefer, Susan M. (Jimmy) Hughes, Robin M. (Buster) Brown, Reuben B. Smith, III., Stephanie L.R. (Dr. Edward Forde) Forde: brothers, Gregory W. Anderson, Woodrow J. Crosby; sisters, Barbara “Myrt” (Ken) Crabb, Shiela Jaskiewiez; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Garland Wright Anderson and Ruth Lucille Crosby; children, Anthony P.B. Smith, Mary Elizabeth Smith; and sister, Gail Dodson.
Mr. Smith was a commercial fisherman for 26 years and retired from DSM as a carpenter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service honoring his life and legacy will be held on Monday January 17, 2022 in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 3pm with Pastor Eddie Moyer officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on the day of the service from 1pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Codi Trotter, Josh Blandenburg, Dylan Hughes, Greg Boatwright, Tyler McGowan and Blake Waller.
