Ray T. Hudson

December 31, 1969 — May 22, 2013

HUDSON-Mr. Ray T. Hudson, age 68, of Graniteville, S. C., loving husband for 42 years to Faye Matthews Hudson, and son of the late R. L. Hudson and the late Lois Thompson Hudson, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ashley Lois Hudson and her companion, Ian Bowles of Aiken, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Ray “Robbie” and Yvonne Hudson of Graniteville, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bill McCarty of Branchville, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hadden of Hephzibah, Georgia; grandchildren, Devon and Chase. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hadden. He was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a self-employed mechanic by trade. He was a family man, who adored his wife and children; especially his two grandchildren, Devon and Chase. Next to his family, came his love for his church family and friends; and of course, we can’t leave out his love for fishing and hunting. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and many friends; however life does not end with death, as God has promised eternal life for all who believe and trust in Him. He has just taken up residence in his new Heavenly home, where all is peace and joy in that great land and no more sad goodbyes are ever spoken. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home Friday evening, May 24th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service celebrating his life and home going will be held at St John United Methodist Church, Saturday morning, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. Mr. Hudson will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Rodney Buffett, Ryan Buffett, Eric Buffett. Carlisle Courtney, Brian Fain and Terry Hudson. Memorials, in Ray’s honor, may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 38, Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
