Patrick I Howard

HOWARD-Mr. Patrick I. Howard, age 81, of Graniteville, S.C. , loving husband of Helen Goodin Howard and son of the late Charlie and Mary Powell Howard, entered into rest on Thursday, March 10, 2011. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters and sons-in-law; Patty H. and Charles Plumley of Montmorenci, Jane Howard of North Augusta, Debbie and Barry McGrath of Graniteville; a son, Mark Howard of Warrenville; a brother, Paul Howard of Aiken; eight grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; stepchildren, Elaine Connell of Augusta, Judy Bain of Evans and Tim Spivey of Martinez. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sallie Randolph Howard, a son, Bobby Howard, three sisters and two brothers. He was born in Graniteville and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a professional plumber and electrician by trade. He was also a master gardener, and when you visited with him, you would always leave with some kind of flower or plant. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and next to his love for God, came his love for his family and friends; and of course his loving and caring attributes yielded him many friends, and his love also extended to quite a large family. Needless to say, he shall be greatly missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched during the 81 years that granted him on this earth; however life for him has not ended; he has just made a transition to his new Heavenly home with no more pain or sorrow. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Graniteville with Pastor Todd Sessions and Rev. John Arthur officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Thomas Rhoden, Jason Rhoden, Charles Plumley, Tim Spivey, Barry McGrath and Robbie Howard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Friday, March 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Graniteville, 76 Canal Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
