OTTIS FERRELL PENNINGTON

PENNINGTON-Entered into rest on Monday, January 3, 2011, Mr. Ottis Ferrell Pennington, age 84 of Perry, S.C., husband of Louise Pilcher Pennington and son of the late Silas Filmore Pennington and the late Mamie Pennington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Jeanne Davis of Orangeburg Co., S.C., Ann Herndon of Athens, Ga., Donna Pennington and Karen Davis both of Aiken County, S.C. and Cindy Toole of Whitehouse, Texas; a sister, Chris Whalen of Memphis, TN.; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Otis Ferrell Pennington, Jr. He was born in Ashland, Mississippi but was a native of Aiken County. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a US Army Veteran having served his country during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked for Graniteville Company, Gregg Division for a number of years and was a retired truck driver with Kenan Transport in North Augusta, S.C. He was an avid hunter. He was a loving father and grandfather and shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 84 years that God granted him on this earth. A service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Bennie Williams officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Grandsons wil serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening January 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
