POWELL-Miss McClay Dale Powell, age 13, of Graniteville, S.C., loving daughter of Preston Powell of Graniteville, S.C. and Kristie Payne of Harlem, Ga., was carried away by angels from Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta, Ga. to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 9, 2013. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepmother, Deana Powell of Graniteville, S.C.; maternal grandparents, Danny and Nancy Payne of Harlem, Ga.; paternal grandparents, Lee and Joann Powell of Aiken, S.C.; step-grandparents, Mike and Michele Bryce of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Peyton Lewis of Augusta, Ga. and stepbrothers, Zeke and Drew Deas both of Graniteville, S.C. McClay was born in Augusta, Ga. She was known as Papa’s Chili Bean. She was a special, gifted and very thoughtful child. She was always giving and had a smile for everyone, and was loved by everyone. Yes, she was a precious, beautiful young girl whose life was way too short; however, death is not the end, for God has promised eternal life for all who believe on Him, and McClay is now enjoying her new Heavenly home, where there is no more pain or sorrow, for all is joy and peace in that land, and there are no more tears and sad goodbyes. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, 3526 Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater, S.C. this Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2013 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Cheselka officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The pallbearers will be Zeke Deas, Drew Deas, Robbie Payne, Daniel Powell, Brian Powell and Tom Johnson. The family will receive friends at the church, Thursday, from 2:00 PM until the hour of service at 4:00 PM. Memorials, in McClay’s memory, may be made to the American Heart Association, 400 Percival Road, Columbia, S.C. 29206. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C.. is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You may sign our guest register by logging on to www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
