Minnie Mitchell Ferguson

FERGUSON-Minnie Mitchell Ferguson, age 96, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late George Bowman Mitchell, Sr. and the late J. Robert Ferguson and daughter of the late John Murphy and the late Rachel Elizabeth Corley Murphy, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. She is survived by daughters, Erlene Baker and Carolyn Mitchell both of Graniteville, S.C.; a son, George B. (Dawn) Mitchell, Jr. of Aiken, S.C.; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Graniteville, S.C. She was a 1934 graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School in Graniteville. She was a retired Maintenance Office Manager with Graniteville Company with 41 years of service. She was a smart minded, quick witted real Southern lady, who could do just about anything she set her mind to. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. She was also a Graniteville Historian. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 96 precious years that God granted her on this earth. She has now finished her journey and is at peace with her maker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, April 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life, will be held at St. John United Methodist Church on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P. O.
