Mildred Taylor Davis

December 31, 1969 — February 19, 2011

DAVIS-Ms. Mildred Taylor Davis, age 98, of Graniteville, S.C. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was the daughter of the late James A. Taylor and the late Mattie McManus Taylor. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Annouise Davis of Graniteville, S. C., two grandchildren Ricky (Dot) Davis of Cocoa, Florida and Kenny (Vickie) Davis of Merritt Island, Florida; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was born in Edgefield County, S. C. but has lived most of her life in Graniteville, S. C. She was a retired weaver with Graniteville Company. She was a member of the Graniteville Church of God. She was a Godly, Christian lady, a loving mother and grandmother and next to her love for God, came her love for her family and friends. She never met a stranger and always had a warm winning smile, which yielded her many friends. Needless to say, she will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 98 precious years that God granted her on this earth; but life for her has not ended; she has just made that great transition to the other side of Jordan to her Heavenly home; yes, Heaven is sweeter with Ms. Mildred Davis there. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Douglas Puckett officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Leonard Taylor Jr., Jimmy Carpenter, Rudy Key, Lee Johnson, Keith Taylor, Tommy Carpenter and Tim Carpenter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, February 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Pepper Hill Nursing Center for the wonderful care given their loved one during her stay there. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the arrangements. Please visit our guest registry at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
