Mildred Young Beard

Beard- Mildred Young Beard, age 74, of Warrenville, S.C., wife of the late Geddings Beard and daughter of the late William H. Young and the late Bonnie Sanford Young, answered God’s call and went to be with Jesus on Monday, May 12, 2014. She is survived by children, Geddings Gerald (Teddi) Beard, Sr. of Warrenville, S.C., Cynthia (Ronnie) Shealy of Ridge Spring, S.C., Brian (Karen) Beard of Warrenville, S. C.; a niece, Cathy (T.C.) Callas of Warrenville; a brother Nathan (Martha) Young of Aiken, S.C.; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Stiefeltown Baptist Church in Stiefeltown, S.C. She retired from Kroger after many years working as a meat clerk. She was faithful to visit the local nursing homes on Sunday, playing the piano and having service for the patients. She loved working with children teaching them about Jesus, using a handheld puppet show to help them enjoy and understand the plan of salvation. She loved her Lord, family and grandchildren with all her heart. In summation, she was a loving, caring person with a beautiful smile, who enjoyed helping her fellowman; thus, knowing that her “Living would not be in vain”. She will surely be missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during her lifetime here on earth, but death is not the end for her as she has just finished her journey and is now at peace with her maker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Winkler and Rev. Robert Boone officiating. The interment will follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
