POWELL- Mr. Michael Anthony Powell, age 47, of Trenton, S.C., son of George T. and Brenda Phillips Johnson, entered into rest on Saturday, June 18, 2011. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law; Lisa and Milledge Day of Aiken, S.C., Theresa and Sam Toole of Graniteville, S.C., Patricia and Earl Mahan of Las Vegas, Nevada; a number of nieces and nephews, one great nephew and his special pet, Garrett. He was born in Aiken, S. C. He had a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and was a Missionary in Haiti. He was a special loving son, brother and uncle, who loved his family very much. He spent his life caring for the Haitian orphan children. He was always doing some type of charity work; infact, his motto could easily have been “Othersâ€, as he was always doing for his fellowman. With this in mind, Michael will surely be missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives that he has touched during the 47 years that God granted him on this earth. Yes, the world could certainly use more charitable people like Michael. A service celebrating his life will be conducted in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 with Rev. Heyward Horton and Rev. David Richardson officiating. The interment will follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Christopher Key, Seth Toole, Todd Horton, Tim Horton, Ken Phillips and Nick Davis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday evening, June 21st from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Family and friends may also call at the parents residence in Trenton, S. C. (Phone # 803 634-3581). Memorials, in Michael’s honor, may be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expense.
