KEY- Merleen Scott Key, age 88, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late Robert E. Scott and the late Ernest J. Key and daughter of the late Arthur Eidson and the late Sallie Padgett Eidson, answered God’s call and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 19, 2014. She is survived by a daughter, Janis Scott Napier, a son, Wayne B. Scott, stepdaughters, Geri (Bob) Aceto, Sandra McGee, Carol (Tommy) Davis; stepson, Mike (Connie) Key; a sister, Sarah Frances McGee; grandchildren, Jeremiah Scott, Nikki Scott, Randi N. (Austin) Bouknight and Erin Morris; great grandchildren, Travis and Jacob Scott, Chase Scott, Nathan and Molly Bouknight, Emma Raye Morris and a number of nieces and nephews. She was born in Saluda County, S.C. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S. C. She was a dedicated member of Vaucluse First Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church and her family with all of her heart, and she lived her life for her Lord. She was lovingly known as MeMa by her great grandbabies. She never met a stranger, and she was well known for her sweet smile that she always had on her face for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 88 precious years that God granted her on this earth. She has finished her journey and is now at peace with her maker. A service celebrating her life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at the Vaucluse Cemetery. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to the Vaucluse First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 26, Vaucluse, S.C. 29850.
