MD Keenan

Mr. Morgan Darrell "MD" Keenan, age 82, beloved husband of 46 1/2 years to Mrs. Katheryn Ann Keenan entered into rest on Sunday March 31, 2024.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Angel (Tony) Smith of Beech Island, SC, Betsy (Nathan) Barber of Burnettown, SC, Danielle (Chris) Schuette of Dayton, OH; son, Morgan Keenan of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Tony (Robin) Smith, Adam (Shellie) Smith, Bella Keenan, Ali Schuette, Levi Schuette; great grandchildren, Kayla, Kenzie, Kyndall, Levi, Korbin and Maddox Smith; sisters, Margaret Odom, Peggy (Steve) Hicks, Magdeline Widener and Mary Lee (Daryl) Opalewski; and step brother, Harold Woodward.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Bertha Wood Keenan and brothers, Marvin, Melvin, Gene Raye Keenan and step brothers, James Woodward, Julian Woodward and Ben Ed Woodward.

Mr. Keenan was an Iron Worker Superintendent, or "Rod Buster" as he liked to call it, for over 40 years working for various construction companies. He enjoyed NASCAR, riding his motorcycle, tinkering with small engines (even if they never ran again) and playing poker with his friends. He also enjoyed planting a garden every year. Mr. Keenan was a devout member of the "Has Been Club" of the Valley. Above all of that he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched. 

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at 1pm at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor David Gallimore and Dr. Mike McAdory officiating.. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening April 2, 2024 from 5-7pm at Napier Funeral Home & Crematory in Graniteville.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Smith, Russell Smith, Kevin Keenan, Glen Widener, William White, Scott Diggins, Jeff Sharpton, Andrew Fore and Marvin Keenan. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Billy Fore, Donald Keenan and the "Has Been Club". 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MVC Sports Ministry at 3526 Jefferson Davis Hwy. Graniteville, SC 29829, in Memory of Mr. Morgan "MD" Keenan.
