Mary Elane O'Bryant Smith

SMITH-Ms. Mary Elaine O’Bryant Smith, age 57, of Warrenville, S. C. entered into eternal rest in the early hours of Thursday morning, when God called home one of his angels. She was the daughter of James Williams and the late Annie Ruth O’Bryant William. She is survived by her father, James Williams; daughters, Tammy Powell Bishop and Brandy P. Smith and her husband, David; sisters, Patricia O’Bryant, Michele Williams Toole and her husband, James and Felicia O’Bryant Benson; brothers, Johnny McDonald, Lester Williams and his wife Kim, and Barry Wayne Williams; her lifelong friend and companion, Henry Shaffer, three grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was fondly known to many as MeMe. She was born in Centre, Alabama but was a lifelong resident of Gloverville, S. C. She was a member of Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was an avid gardener and was often found tending her flowers. She loved fishing and spending time with her family. She shall be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she shall live on forever in their hearts. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Branch officiating. The interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Bath, S.C. The pallbearers will be Shannon O’Bryant, Jason Patterson, Carl O’Bryant, Lathan Tice, Lamar O’Bryant, Doug Burke, Ronnie Shealey and Tommy Bishop. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations, in Ms. O’Bryant’s honor, be sent in care of her daughter, Brandy Smith, at 262 Wheeler Circle, Warrenville, S.C. 29851.
