Mary Velma Wright Rollins

ROLLINS-Mrs. Mary Velma Wright Rollins, age 70, of Aiken, S.C., loving wife for over 50 years to Austin Rollins and daughter of the late James P. Wright and the late Daisey Bell Grover Wright, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 4, 2012. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roland A. and Nancy Rollins of Aiken; a daughter, Robyn A. Rollins Hunt of Aiken; a brother, Walter O. Wright of North Augusta; a sister, Verlie Blackwell of Belvedere and a granddaughter, Dana N. Burch. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She served with pride as an Aiken Electorial Poll Manager for years. She was priviledged to attend Washington, D. C. representing the GOP during Reagan’s election. She was a devoted member of Redds Branch Baptist Church in Aiken. She was a very dedicated Christian lady, who walked the walk and talked the talk. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends unconditionally. She will surely be missed by all whose lives she touched during the 70 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however life does not end with death, as she has just made a transition to her Heavenly home, where life and love never ends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening, March 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating her homegoing will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Redds Branch Baptist Church in Aiken with Rev. Gary Hanna officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial donations, in Mrs. Rollins’ honor, may be made to the funeral home to assist with purchasing a headstone for her grave.
