Marjorie Jay Rushton

RUSHTON-Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 4, 2010, Mrs. Marjorie Jay Rushton, age 30 of Graniteville, S. C., loving wife of Mark Rushton and daughter of Jimmy and Mary Baughman Jay. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two darling little girls; Corrine and Charity Rushton; very special brothers and sisters-in-law; Dean and Tami Jay of Graniteville, S. C., Rev. Brad and Becky Jay of Jackson, S.C.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Michael and Lynn Rushton of Aiken, S.C.; her father-in-law, Horace “Bubba” Rushton of Vaucluse, S.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. She was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was employed as a nurse at Palmetto Pediatric of Aiken. She was a dedicated and very active member of the Langley Church of God; there she taught the College Sunday School Class and was Vice President of the Choir. She was a License Minister and had just started the Ministerial Intern Program. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, daughter, aunt and friend to many. She will truly be missed by her family and many friends; however, life for her has not ended; she has just made a transition to her eternal home. She is now shouting on the “Hills of Glory” and rejoicing with her Lord and Savior. A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Langley Church of God in Langley, S.C. with Pastor Bennie E. Burton, Rev. Jeffrey Hicks and Rev. Brad Jay officiating. The interment will follow at the Gunter Family Cemetery in Batesburg, S.C. Members of her Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home, Tuesday evening, September 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Mrs. Rushton will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
