POLATTY-Ms. Louise Whittle Polatty, age 87, of Gloverville, S.C., wife for 68 years to the late Charles E. Polatty and daughter of the late Jacob Whittle and the late Annie Randall Whittle, entered into eternal rest at Trinity on Laurens in Aiken, S.C. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. She is survived by daughters: Brenda P. Martin of Warrenville, S.C. and Lydia P. Bates and her companion, Wayne Durden of Bath, S.C.; grandchildren, Charles (Martha) Bates, Cindy (Rex) Freeman, Beverly (Louis) Wilson and Douglas (Denise) Durden and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Louise Polatty. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C.. She was Past Worthy Matron and member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Graniteville, S.C. She was a member of Warrenville Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies’ Auxilliary. She retired from the Hickman Division of Graniteville Company after 27 years of faithful service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a real people person, and she shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 87 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery.The pallbearers will be James Britt, Charles Bates, Doug Durden, Rex Freeman, Tommy Proctor and James Whittle. The family will receive friends at her daughter, Lydia’s residence, in Bath, S.C. or at the funeral home this evening,Thursday, February 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in Ms. Polatty’s honor, may be made to Trinity On Laurens, 213 Laurens St. NW, Aiken, S.C. 29801.
