Louise Pilcher Pennington

PENNINGTON-Mrs. Louise Pilcher Pennngton, age 89, of Neeses, S.C. formerly of Aiken County, S.C., widow of the late Otis Ferrell Pennington, Sr. and daughter of the late Benjamin Grady Pilcher and the late Willie Bell Pilcher Williams, entered into eternal rest at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. on Sunday, July 28, 2013. She is survived by daughters, Ann Herndon of Athens, Ga., Jeanne Davis of Neeses, S.C., Donna Pennington of Graniteville, S.C., Cindy Toole of Tennessee and Karen Davis of Graniteville, S.C.; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Otis Ferrell Pennington, Jr. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. but had lived in Aiken County, Lake Thurmond, S.C. and most recently at Agape Nursing Home in Lexington, S.C. She loved to play bingo with her friends, and she loved to listen to Country Music. She was also an avid gardener, and she enjoyed canning the vegetables that she grew. She was a strong tough lady who bravely fought her illness for years before succumbing to death. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aiken, S.C. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 89 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, life does not end with death as God has promised eternal life for all who believe and trust in Him. She has just made a transition to her new Heavenly home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, July 30th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service celebrating her life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dean Cartin officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Jamie Davis, Jessie Davis, O’Neal Davis, Gene Hamilton, James Montgomery, Robert Williams and Phillip Toole.
