Lewis S. Ready

Mr. Lewis Samuel Ready, age 97, beloved husband of 61 years to the late Frances Green Ready, entered into rest on Friday July 1, 2022.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Greg) West; granddaughter, who was like a daughter, Ashley (Jon) Nelson; granddaughter, Krystale West; and great grandchildren, Jordan Nelson, Macey Nelson, Jaxon Hill, Reece Hammond and Zoe Hammond.

In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bonnie Owens Ready; brothers, Cecil and Grady “Lindy” Ready; and sister, Gertrude Ready Sheppard.

Mr. Ready was a member of the Aiken Golf Club. He loved playing golf with his friends. He was also an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan. Mr. Ready proudly served his country in the United States Navy in WWII. He loved his country, his family and his church. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he impacted.

A funeral service honoring his life and legacy will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2022 at 3pm at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville with Rev. Kendall Healy and Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
