BUSBEE-Answered God’s call on Friday, October 1, 2010, Mr. Leland C. Busbee, age 59 of Aiken, S.C., son of the late Harboy “Doc” Busbee and the late Mary Couch Busbee Hobbs and beloved and faithful companion of the late Barbara Widener. Williams of Aiken, S.C.; brothers, Dan Busbee of Lacey, Washington, William Busbee of Montgomery, Alabama and Wallace Busbee of Aiken, S.C. and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents and companion, he was preceded in death by a son, Bertie Busbee. He was born in Edgefield County but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a US Army Veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of New Beginning Congregational Holiness Church in Aiken. He spent countless hours reading and studying his bible. He was a loving son, father and brother who loved his family and friends. He was a people person, and his ability to strike up a conversation with any and everyone yielded him many friends. He shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched along the way; but life for Leland has not ended, as the gift of God is everlasting life. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 4:00 PM at New Beginning Congregational Holiness Church on Highway # 1 in Aiken, S.C. with Rev.Charles Wilson and Rev. Sandra Myers officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials, in Leland’s honor, be made to New Beginning Congregational Holiness Church Building Fund, 2466 Columbia Highway North, Aiken, S C. 29801. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. is in charge of the arrangements. Please visit our guest registry at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
