Laurie H. "Bo" Bennett, Jr.

BENNETT -Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, Mr. Laurie H. “Bo” Bennett, Jr., age 75 of Graniteville, S.C. beloved husband for 27 years to Helen Mason Bennett and son of the late Laurie H. Bennett, Sr. and the late Lois Harden Bennett. In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepsons; Stephen N. Merriett, Jr. of Wagener, S.C., Harold Merriett of Aiken, S.C. and Michael E. Merriett and his wife, Kaye of North Augusta, S. C.; a sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Bennett of North Augusta, S.C.; three nephews and one niece; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a very special aunt, Alma Bennett of Belvedere, S. C. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S. C. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the Bowling Association. He was a retired commercial truck driver; and this probably contributed to his love for traveling. He shall be greatly missed by his family and friends and all whose lives he touched along the way; however, life for him has not ended, just only begun in a better land. A celebration of his life service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. James L.Young officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Billy Hughes, Paul Portwood, Bobby Dunn, John L. Smith, Lou Padgett and Boyce W. Waldrop. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home tonight, Thursday, July 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the arrangements.
