Lamar Knight

December 31, 1969 — August 17, 2013

KNIGHT-Mr. Lamar “Snookie” Knight, age 86, of Graniteville, S.C., husband of the late Hazel Jeanette Robbins Knight and son of the late Joseph Wade Knight and the late Gracie Tompkins Knight, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He is survived by a sister, Ann K. Doscher of Aiken; stepsons, Gary Renew of Conway and Gerald Cook of Graniteville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Jeanette Yon and a son, Joseph Lamar Knight. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Graniteville. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville. He was a retired Commercial Electrician. He was a US Army Veteran having bravely served his country during World War II. His sister stated that he was a loving brother. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He shall be greatly missed; however, death cannot destroy precious memories. He has finished his journey and is now at peace with his maker. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside by 1:45 PM. There will be no visitation with the family at the funeral home. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S. C. 29210.
